Jenna Gordon, LPC-Associate, NCC
Jenna is a counselor that works with children and teens working through the ebbs and flows of life. Jenna believes that the relationship is the therapy, and focuses on building strong rapport with her clients. Jenna works from a Person-Centered and Child-Centered lens when counseling.
With her work with children, Jenna uses Child-Centered Play Therapy, which is an evidenced based approach for children ages 3-10. With teens, Jenna uses both talk therapy and activity therapy techniques to foster the strongest therapeutic relationship.
Jenna has experience working with a multitude of childhood traumas, including; divorce, parental incarceration, medical trauma, and abuse. She has gained experience working with different cultural identities through school-based counseling as well as university clinic settings. Jenna is trained in the Gesell Developmental Observation - Revised, which helps understand children’s developmental age.
Jenna earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience from Washington College. Jenna then went on to earn her Masters of Arts in Education and Human Development specializing in School Counseling from The George Washington University in Washington DC and is currently pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision specializing in Play Therapy from the University of North Texas. Jenna is supervised by, Dr. Chelsea Yurkovich, LPC-S, RPTS.
