Jamie Vaca, Student Intern
Jamie is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families on their path to healing and personal growth. She brings warmth, empathy, and a systemic perspective — understanding how relationships and environments shape mental health and well-being. Jamie strives to create an affirming, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their stories and foster meaningful change.
With fifteen years of experience in the classroom, Jamie has a particular passion for working with teenagers, recognizing the unique challenges they face as they navigate identity, relationships, and life transitions. Using a family systems approach, she collaborates not only with teens but also with their families, promoting open communication and strengthening connections to foster understanding and support.
Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Education and a Master’s of Education in Special Education from Texas Woman’s University. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University. Jamie is supervised by Dr. Melissa Hunter, PhD, LMFT-S.
